Artist’s Abode
In late summer 2023, Kayleigh and Rory approached us after returning to the UK from their time living and working in Amsterdam. As they welcomed a new addition to their family, they sought to transform their former home and enhance its functionality to better suit their growing needs.
Kayleigh was returning to her artistic roots and embracing a new career as a contemporary abstract artist and she had a very clear vision and design aesthetic in mind for their project. They entrusted us with refining concepts and layouts for their living room, kitchen/dining space and family bathroom.
Together we developed a cohesive scheme that unified these spaces, enhanced by subtle nuances of colour and pattern. It was a delight to add playful details such as the Bert and May Basoon Tiles to the fireplace firebox along with valley detail mouldings that brought depth, dimension and visual intrigue to the lovely bespoke kitchen.
Equipped with our presentations and drawing pack, the ambitious couple began the process of sourcing their contractor and managing the project independently, all whilst anticipating the arrival of their second child. A year later, once the project was complete and they had settled into their new life as a family of four, we returned to add some finishing touches and document the outcome. We are truly impressed with their dedication and thrilled with the results.
