Commercial Cool

We were approached by Rachel, Axe and Saw Founder, to design and install her new office space for her growing team and thriving PR Company.

Rachel works close to one of our previous projects, The Badu Café, where she appreciated the transformation of the unit and by chance bumped into our very own Fiona working her magic on site one day.

This Spring, Rachel appointed us to transform her new office studio that included a double height mezzanine (and peeling paint!). In contrast to the buzzing creative hub that is Mainyard Studios in Hackney Wick, this unit was lack lustre and in desperate need of some identity to inspire the A+S team and truly represent the brand and their creative focus.

Visual of Mezzanine and Office Zones

We loved the various opportunities to create break out areas, meeting tables, co-working spaces, or private workplaces on the mezzanine. This was key amongst wanting to create a space that the team would be proud to invite clients and host key events and milestones.

We made the most of the double height space but adding some of their bold attention-grabbing branding, the colours of which we repeated tonally throughout in both accessories and soft furnishings.

As an entrepreneur, and new mother, we’ve been where Rachel was! Grappling with the demands of everyday life whilst striving to fulfil a design project creatively and within budget. Our job as her appointed designers was to unburden the process and give Rachel more time to focus on her business and family. On every project we take on, our purpose is for you to feel supported, inspired, and excited about your project without the hassle of managing budgets.

There was some furniture we were able to re-purpose from the previous office space, but with a modest budget we worked our procurement magic and sourced all the additional elements to bring the project to life. We used our design skills to add layers to the studio, adding the feel of quality and a sense of warmth to what was a cold and harsh room. The Axe and Saw office is now a place of inspiration that embodies the brands ethos and approach to their own PR projects.

“LOVEEE”

“OMGGGGGGGGGG”

“Thank you for all your hard work, so so excited.”

We’re yet to ask Rachel for an official review but her WhatsApp messages were tremendously rewarding! Rachel has appointed us for another project next, details of which we hope to be able to share soon.

From a small boutique office refresh to a large scale full office renovation, we are available to discuss your work space and how it can work harder for you and your teams. Book a complimentary intro call in with us to discuss your projects.
